Cathy Weseluck with Spike The Dragon (And Dog)


It must be tough to be a role model when you keep eating your own homework. We will have to ask Cathy Weseluck how she manages… when she joins us for Everfree Northwest 2019!

Internationally known, award-winning voice-over actor Cathy Weseluck’s acting/production career extends over a wide range of areas. In addition to her continued success as a voice-over performer, Cathy’s noted accomplishments also include her work as a TV actor, instructor, consultant, guest speaker, casting director/director, associate producer, writer, composer, performer and photographer. Born in Toronto and with the achievement of an Honours Music Degree and Minor in Sociology in her pocket, Cathy began a radio production career with the CBC Radio Music Department as a trainee Producer in Toronto, working as an editor, production assistant, writer/researcher, interviewer, stage-director, director and assistant producer . Later, she was awarded the position of Associate Producer for CBC Radio Two’s internationally acclaimed “DiscDrive” in Vancouver, BC as part of the original team. Known in the animation world for her starring roles as ‘Spike’ (‘Coco Pommel’/‘Mayor’) in “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”, ‘Buttercream Sundae’ in the fun-filled series “Littlest Pet Shop”, ’Cybersix’ (and ‘Adrian’) in the award-winning TMS/N.O.A. series “Cybersix”, ‘Shahzaman’ of “1001 Nights”, ‘Gizmo’ the lovable robot in “Super Book”, ‘Yuma’ in the adventure series “World Trigger”, ‘Dennis’ in the hit Disney comedy series “Kid Vs Kat”, ‘Near’ in “Death Note”, ‘Young Trunks’ in “Dragonball Z”, and as ‘Shampoo’ in “Ranma 1⁄2”, Cathy has performed thousands of voices in hundreds of productions. Her narration and video game credits include “CBC’s Life & Times - ‘Silver Lining: The Brian Orser Story’”, “Terasen Gas”, “BC Ferries”, “EA Playground”, “Warhammer Mark Of Chaos” and “007 Racing”. As a TV actor, she has appeared in a variety of shows and feature films such as “Cold Squad”, “Just Cause”, “Stargate” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. Cathy has also served as a Casting Director, Director and/or Music Director for several animation, ADR, commercial, narrative, educational video, DVD, corporate video and radio projects and for over 20 years, has also been revered as an accomplished and highly respected voice-over instructor and consultant for the film and TV industries and the public. In addition to creating and conducting her own voice-over workshops and private coaching sessions which she continues to conduct to this day, Cathy has shared her knowledge at Berkeley U of C, the CBC, trade forums, casting symposiums, production companies, agencies, acting academies, secondary schools and institutions of higher learning.
